Paintbrush Canyon

We spent our second day in the park checking out Paintbrush Canyon and String / Leigh Lakes. While this is technically a backpacking loop, we were so enticed by pics we had found, we decided to just hike it a ways to check it out then turn around. We had not time frame in mind, just wanted to try and approach the canyon. And while we never actually got to the canyon, the fall colors were really showing off and letting us know where it got it’s name. After finding an excellent view point to stop at, we made our way back down to check out the mellow shores and trail that follows the shoreline of String Lake.
